The Maine Brain Aneurysm Awareness Committee was pleased to award the 11th annual KAT-Walk & Karo-5K Research Grant for 2023 in the amount of $10,000 during the Brain Aneurysm Awareness event on September 24, 2023 in Portland, Maine.
Angie Leclerc, Critical Care and Mary Sorcher, Neurocritical Care Research at Maine Medical Center have developed and implemented a new program at MMC called NeuroCOPE.
Healthcare workers in the Neuro ICU may suffer distress while caring for neurologically injured patients in the acute phase of their illness. NeuroCope provides regularly scheduled, interprofessional conferences focused on patient recovery, outcomes, and patient & family experiences.
We are so very thankful for the wonderful care the entire medical team at MMC provides to our Brain Aneurysm and Stroke families during a very difficult time and this grant is our way of showing our full support and appreciation to all who take care of us.
