TEAMS play a big part of the success of the KAT-Walk & Karo-5K and we want to give a word of appreciation to each of them for their tremendous support of this year’s event:
This year’s HONOR TEAM was the “Artful Dodgers”, formed by family, colleagues, and friends in memory of our beloved friend and MBAAC co-founder, Art Piteau. We are thankful for this team and family donating over $6,800 in honor of Art’s desire to raise awareness, provide support, and fund education and research.
This year’s TOP FUNDRAISING TEAM – Team Karolina with over $4,500 raised in memory of the 13th year anniversary of Karolina’s passing from a ruptured brain aneurysm.
- Team Cheyanne –Barbie and Karen have raised $1,600 in memory of Cheyanne
- Nolan’s HERO’s -$1,300 raised in Memory of their son Nolan Berthelette from Pittston
- Team Heidi – a two-time survivor and in memory of sister Dori, Kim, and Nancy raised $1,250
- Team Rebecca Joy – $1,030
- BURRvivors – $675
- Team Sara – $520
- Island Girls Rock – $435
- Rock the Walk Blue – $410
Other teams raising funds and attending the walk included: Team Midge, Team MooMoo, Running for Rhonda, Team Chloe Miles, MMC Neuro Critical, Best Place Scenarios, Christina’s Crusaders, Team Ali House, The Pace Makers, and UNE Occupation Therapy.
Collectively, these teams and walk participants raised over $20,500 that will be used to provide brain aneurysm awareness, education, funding of research, and general support centered on the Brain Aneurysm community in Maine and northern New England.
