Promotional “Tour” on arc Maine

The Maine Brain Aneurysm Awareness Committee was delighted to receive a call from Travis at FOX23 in Portland, Maine. They were asked if they would like to appear on the ARC Maine morning show to promote our upcoming KAT-Walk & Karo-5k event and raise awareness about brain aneurysms.

Committee members Dave and Heidi McCausland graciously accepted the invitation and provided the producers with some graphics and talking points to discuss. However, due to the limited time of only 5 minutes for a LIVE segment, they had to condense their information significantly.

Lawrence, a man of many hats, guided Dave and Heidi to the television studio. They learned that Lawrence had an uncle who had survived a ruptured brain aneurysm. This is just one of many instances where strangers have shared their personal experiences with brain aneurysms, highlighting its prevalence.

The darkened studio, where both WGME and WPFO stations broadcast their shows, exuded a sense of quiet seriousness, especially considering the ongoing LIVE broadcast.

Lawrence mic’d up Dave and Heidi with brief instructions, and they were warmly greeted by anchors Jeff Peterson and Katie Sampson who helped to ease their nerves.

While our group has a lot to say about brain aneurysms, their mission, statistics, and the annual event, we were limited to 5 minutes. Despite this constraint, we express our gratitude to Katie, Jeff, Travis, and Lawrence for the wonderful opportunity.

ONLINE registration will close down at Noon on Thursday (Sept. 18th) but you can still register ONSITE at the event itself. Come on down, support a great cause, and help us raise brain aneurysm awareness.
